Welcome to the October 9th, 2009 edition of Digital Book Readers Blog Carnival.

Switch11 presents Libraries lending out Kindle posted at iReader Review saying “This is a list of libraries that are lending out Kindles and setting a great precedent. There’s also a discussion of Amazon’s stance on Libraries lending Kindles at the end.”

Matt Safford presents Foxit eSlick Review posted at Computer Shopper saying “The eSlick lets you zoom in on PDFs, which makes large, image-heavy files (like this issue of DC Comics’ DMZ, shown here) readable.”

Iddo Genuth presents The Future of Electronic Paper posted at the Future of Things with an easy and understandable review of the modern e-paper technology.

Travis Van Slooten presents Kindle vs. Sony Reader: 2008 Comparison posted at ebook readers resource concluding “In an ideal world there would be an ebook with the Kindle’s price, wireless capabilities, and breadth of content along with the stylish look and feel of the Sony Reader and its touch screen capabilities.”

James Kendrick presents iPhone bigger ebook reader than Kindle or Sony Reader posted at jkontherun.com. Quite old article (end of 2008), but with some interesting notes about Stanza e-reader and long discussion of the topic between readers.

Soumya Sinha presents Cool-er e-book Reader Looks Cool, Light on Pocket but not upto Kindle posted at Gadgetophilia. A brief aricle about controversial Cook-er. Probably there are more negative points about this e-reader in the net, but not in this review.

Suzane Smith presents Distractions in E-Learning and How to Avoid Them posted at University Online. Not too much about hadware ebook raders, but still related with e-book industry.
